The Experience
What to Expect on Jump Day
No experience needed. We guide you through every step so you can focus on the thrill. Here is exactly how your day unfolds.
1. Arrival at the Drop Zone
Arrive at Mon Loisir Sugar Estate Airstrip in Rivière du Rempart. Check in, sign your waiver, and meet your instructor. Total on-site time is 2–3 hours.
Tip: Book early in your Mauritius holiday so you have flexibility if weather delays your jump.
2. Safety Briefing
Your instructor gives a clear 10–15 minute briefing. You'll learn the correct freefall body position, what to do at the aircraft door, and how to lift your legs for landing.
3. Gear Up
We fit you into a harness and jumpsuit and give you goggles. Your instructor double-checks every buckle and connection.
4. Scenic Plane Ascent
The Cessna climbs for about 20 minutes to 10,000 ft. Enjoy panoramic views of the northern lagoons, coral reefs, and coastline of Mauritius.
5. The Door Opens
At altitude, you shuffle to the door with your instructor. After final checks, you exit together. The first few seconds feel like floating as the wind rushes past.
6. Up to 30 Seconds of Freefall
You fall at around 200 km/h for up to 30 seconds. Many people say it does not feel like falling—it feels like flying. Breathe normally, smile, and take in the view.
7. Canopy Flight & Landing
The parachute opens at around 5,000 ft. The next 5 minutes are calm and quiet as you glide over the island. Your instructor steers to a soft, controlled landing.
8. Celebration
Back on the ground, collect your gear, pick up your photos and video if purchased, and celebrate. Many jumpers book a second jump on the spot.
